PURPOSE
It’s purpose is to assume our share of responsibility and the privilege of propagating the gospel of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit by all available means, both at home and in foreign lands and edify the church by training believers to “declare the word” of God so that they may live effective victorious lives.
TENETS OF FAITH
1. THE NATURE OF GOD
There is only one God. He has existed eternally as three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ born of a virgin) and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; John 1:1.
2. MAN’S PROBLEM
Man was created in the image of God but through voluntary disobedience turned away from moral innocence and became a sinner. Man’s central problem, therefore, is his continual rejection of God and His standards. Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 5:12.
3. THE SOLUTION
Even while we were hostile to God (yet sinners), Jesus took our punishment on Himself, providing a pardon for all who believe in Him. John 3:16; Romans 5:10.
4. THE BIBLE
The Bible is God-inspired and is our only standard for faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
5. NEW BIRTH
The change which takes place in the heart and the life of any person who accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is real and miraculous. John 1:12; 3:3.
6. DAILY CHRISTIAN LIFE
The proper goal of every Christian is to grow in relationship with Christ and others and is evidenced by Christ-like character. John 14:23; Hebrews 6:1.
7. BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER
Baptism by immersion in water is a public declaration of our identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. We remember our Lord’s death by regularly taking communion. Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 11:19.
8. THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to the Christian, and all the gifts in the New Testament are still available to the Christian today. I Corinthians 12:1-11, 28; Ephesians 4:7-11.
9. EVANGELISM
Winning individuals, families and nations to God through the good news of Jesus Christ is the principal purpose of this organization. Mark 16:15; 2 Corinthians 5: 18-21.
10. EXHORTATION
This means to encourage believers to walk uprightly, declare the Word of God and stand on it’s principles so that they may have Christ-like character manifested in their daily lives. Isaiah 61: 1-3.
